Electrifying a 180-vehicle logistics hub

180 AC bays, 8 DC fast bays and 1.2 MWh of buffer storage on a connection that could never have served them unmanaged.

Electrifying a 180-vehicle logistics hub

The challenge

Unmanaged, the depot would have needed a 6.4 MW connection. The available capacity was 1.8 MW, and the DSO quoted a four-year timeline for an upgrade.

Engineering design

Telematics-driven scheduling across 180 AC bays, eight 150 kW DC bays for turnaround vehicles, and 1.2 MWh of storage buffering the DC peaks. The controller allocates current continuously against departure times.

Installation

Eleven months in four zones so depot operations continued at full volume throughout.

They made 1.8 megawatts behave like six. That is the whole project in one sentence.
